├ remanence

Remanence is what is left when the field goes away. In a real wire it is the magnetisation that stays after the coil is switched off. Here it is the fraction of the 4,096 sites that have flipped.

Remanence is 0.0000 and has never decreased.
The only line on this site that is drawn in bone, because it is the only one that cannot come down.

It cannot decrease. There is no operation in the model that turns a site back down. This is not enforced by a check on the way out, it is that the program has no path that does it, which is a stronger guarantee than a check and a much harder one to argue with.

The line above is drawn in bone for that reason. Everything else on this site is ink, because everything else can still change. Remanence is the one quantity that is finished the moment it is written, and the colour is doing the work of saying so.

Between bursts it is flat, and it is flat for most of the run. What it looks like at the end depends entirely on the order things happened in. Two wires given the same final market cap by different routes do not end up the same: one that climbed steadily has torn differently from one that spiked and fell back, even if both finish at the same number.

That is what hysteresis means, and it is the reason this site keeps a log instead of a current value. A current value would tell you where the wire is. Only the log tells you how it got there, and here those are different questions with different answers.

Nobody can reset it. There is no administrative action, no key, no setting, no button. The only route to a different remanence is a different wire, and a different wire is a different site with a different seed and no claim on this history.

At 1.0000 the wire is saturated. Polling stops, the log closes, and this becomes a record rather than an instrument. Everything stays readable and nothing restarts. That is the end of it, and it is the only ending it has.
